From Our Home to Yours: Get First Looks at New Products, Candles & More
This toothpaste is different from every other toothpaste on the market. Here’s why:
1. It is Fluoride-free. Fluoride is a known neurotoxin that can decrease IQ, especially in young kids. (1) Research has shown that excess fluoride can damage brain cells through oxidative stress, disrupt neurotransmitter levels (like serotonin and dopamine), and interfere with mitochondrial function, leading to reduced energy for brain function. (4)
2. It’s Hydroxyapatite-Free. In the healthy-sphere, there is a trend of using hydroxyapatite for remineralizing properties. It was found that nano-hydroxyapatite can cross into the blood-brain barrier. (2) While other toothpastes may use non-nano hydroxyapatite, we believe the data isn’t clear if it’s truly safe for kids and adults. Therefore we chose remineralization using calcium carbonate. Calcium Carbonate is safe and effective. When it comes into contact with enamel that has been demineralized, it gets to work and can actually rebuild the tooth enamel! (3)
3. We use Organic Xylitol. Organic Xylitol comes from Organic Birch Bark and has been proven to prevent cavities! Not only does it neutralize acids that bad bacteria create in your mouth, but it also reduces the ability for bacteria to stick to your teeth! (8) We use high quality Organic Xylitol from Organic Birch Bark- NOT cheaper forms made from corn or GMO crops.
4. It’s Glycerin-Free. Many toothpastes use Glycerin as an additive. The reason is that it makes the toothpaste squirt out of the bottle easier. The issues that some dentists suggest that glycerin coats the teeth and therefore they cannot be remineralized. This is why it was omitted from our product.
5. We use Spearmint and not Peppermint nor Wintergreen. The minty flavor is actually more complex than it may appear. Children and nursing mothers should stay away from Peppermint as it high in menthol which can cause seizures and toxicity in even very low doses. (5) Wintergreen is not safe for pregnant women, nursing mothers, kids or animals. Even less than a teaspoon can be fatal to children less than 6 years old. (6) We take formulation of our products seriously and that’s why we use Organic Spearmint. It’s safe for pregnant mamas, nursing women, kids, and even your dog!
6. We use a glass container. Many toothpaste options come in plastic squirt bottles. While it may be more convenient to use, plastic bottles, especially single use plastic bottles, contain high levels of micro-plastics that can interfere with the hormones in your body. (7) We include a little wooden spoon to help you scoop out the toothpaste and put it on your brush. It may be an extra step, but your body thanks you!
We could go on and on about how this toothpaste is the best- but why don’t you give it a try!
