This thick, skin-loving balm is formulated with simple, nutrient-dense ingredients to create a natural mineral barrier while deeply moisturizing. Perfect for daily use on face, body, hands, or anywhere skin needs extra care after time outdoors.

Key Ingredients & Their Rough SPF Contributions (estimates only – these are not lab-tested on the finished product and SPF cannot simply be added together):

• Non-nano uncoated zinc oxide: The primary mineral UV reflector/scatterer. In mathematical formulas, zinc oxide typically contributes roughly 1–1.5 SPF units per 1% concentration. At this level it provides the vast majority of the protection — common charts place a 25–30% zinc balm in the rough SPF 25–35 range (broad-spectrum UVA/UVB estimate only).
• Organic Raspberry seed oil : Popular for its antioxidants and fatty acids. Rough SPF estimates from studies vary widely — older in-vitro tests have claimed 25–50, while more recent testing shows values from as low as ~2–3 (in vivo) up to around 20 depending on the method. It adds some supportive activity but is not a strong standalone protector.
• Organic Cold-Pressed unrefined coconut oil : Well-studied natural oil with a rough in-vitro SPF of ~7–8 thanks to its lauric acid content. It contributes mild UVB filtering and excellent skin-softening properties.
• Organic Grass-fed grass finished suet tallow: Zero meaningful SPF on its own — it’s included for its skin-identical lipids that mimic human sebum for deep, long-lasting hydration.
• Organic Raw American beeswax: Zero SPF contribution — it simply creates the firm balm texture and helps form a breathable occlusive layer.

Important notes on performance and appearance Because we use a high percentage of non-nano zinc oxide, this balm will leave a visible white cast on the skin and is not translucent like chemical sunscreens or tinted formulas. The cast is more noticeable on darker skin tones and fades somewhat as it settles, but it’s part of the natural mineral protection. The texture is a solid balm that softens with body heat. 

How to use Apply a generous layer to clean skin 15–20 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every 2 hours or after swimming/sweating. Because this is a thick balm, it spreads best when warmed between your fingers.
